Sen. Rankin thrashes Democratic challenger

Incumbent Luke Rankin, R-Myrtle Beach, looked set to hold onto his S.C. Senate seat in District 33, overcoming a Democratic challenger for the second time. Rankin, 46, pulled nearly three quarters of the votes away from two-time challenger Jara Uzenda, 62, a contractor. “I’m certainly happy to have gotten the victory and the margin as well,” Rankin said. “It’s affirming to be given a good grade.
